Where to eat & drink in Ridgeway Plaza Mississauga? As a travelling foodie, I was on a mission to explore Mississauga’s biggest food plaza.
Founded in 2022, Ridgeway Plaza is home to over 100 diverse restaurants and unique ethnic food options (most are halal), ranging from Chinese to Mexican to Peruvian to Yemeni to Iraqi. The vibrant culinary scene in this strip mall reflects not only Mississauga’s diversity, but Greater Toronto Area’s enthusiasm for local and ethnic cuisines.
This bustling hub has become a foodie destination and local hot spot. In this Mississauga travel guide (with video), we’re featuring some of the best restaurants, places to eat & drink in Ridgeway Plaza.

VIDEO: 24-Hour Food Challenge at Ridgeway Plaza Mississauga
You can eat the entire day here! In this travel video, that’s exactly what I did in this 24-hour food challenge of eating only at Ridgeway Plaza.
From lunch, dinner, late night, and then breakfast and lunch the next day, I take you to all the restaurants and food & drink spots I visited.
You’ll also get to see some behind-the-scenes and how Mississauga’s biggest food plaza transitions in 24 hours.
The nightlife is intense here even on a Monday night. I was amazed with how late places close with some closing at 4am, and there’s even one restaurant that’s 24 hours!

Al-Bassam Roastery
Al-Bassam Roastery is the spot for premium nuts, chocolates, sweets, coffee and Turkish delight. As a roastery, roasted nuts and coffee beans are a must at Al-Bassam!
I highly recommend the Arabic coffee made in hot sand which uses blend of Yemeni, Syrian and Brazilian beans. Sand coffee is not common to find in Ontario (my first time was in Izmir, Turkey) so, if you haven’t seen it before, be sure to have your camera/phone ready.

BADAMI Sweets + Cuisine
BADAMI Sweets + Cuisine specializes in Pakistani and Indian sweets and savory dishes. What’s so special about this place is you’ll see chefs make jalebi live by the entrance window so it adds an interactive element to your dining experience and you know you’re enjoying fresh jalebi.
I was surprised coming back at 12:30am and still seeing them make this Indian street food because that’s how busy they get even late night. I shared the behind-the-scenes in the video.

GC Burger
GC (Great Canadian) Burger is the spot for smashed burgers in Ridgeway Plaza, from classic smash burgers to limited time creations like The GC Okie which uses mustard crusted premium beef patty smashed Oklahoma style.
The burgers were juicy and smashed to perfection, but don’t sleep on the hand-blended GC Shake as well!

Karachi Hot N Roll
Karachi Hot N Roll brings Karachi street food and Pakistani cuisine to Mississauga. The variety of juices and the lively atmosphere make it a local hot spot. I was surprised to come here close to 1AM and saw a line.
The sugarcane juice is popular here, and they make it fresh to order using sugar cane from Costa Rica.

Matari Coffee Co
Where to enjoy coffee at Ridgeway Plaza? Matari Coffee Co is a modern cafe and great coffice spot, specializing in Yemeni coffee and tea, along with delicious pastries and desserts.
As a coffee lover, I loved the Yemeni Latte and even bought some Yemeni beans to take home. The Adeni Chai really stood out and went so well dipped with thamool, a Yemeni savoury cookie.

Mount Sinai
One of the best Mexican restaurants in Mississauga, Mount Sinai is a small joint run by husband (from Acapulco, Mexico)-and-wife (from Nicaragua), renowned for its authentic Mexican dishes, including tacos, tortas, and enchiladas.
To taste a variety that’s good for sharing is the Meal 1 Premium, where you’ll get tacos and quesadillas with your choice of fillings, rice, beans with cheese and two drinks.
They make their own corn tortillas and homemade hot sauces with varying levels, which is a win!
My favourite was the lamb birria which was very tender and flavourful. The consomme was addicting! Beef birria is good too if you don’t like lamb, but lamb birria is generally uncommon so it’s worth a try.
Travelling Foodie Tip: They give complimentary churros for first time customers! The churros is a must.

Nablus Creamery
Opened by a husband-and-wife team from Palestine, Nablus Creamery is a neighborhood dairy shop and creamery offering a variety of Mediterranean yogurt drinks, cheese and ice cream.
I came here to try the Arabic ice cream and ended up having the Arabic ice cream slice, which is even better! Great for sharing, the slice was creamy and had the gummy texture from the mastic resin and reminded me of dondurma (Turkish ice cream) I had in Kas, Turkey.

Nawab’s Legendary BBQ
The only 24-hour restaurant at Ridgeway Plaza, Nawab’s Legendary BBQ specializes in Mughlai BBQ and comfort food like chicken wings, pizza and burgers, but with an Indian fusion twist.
Their chicken tikka pizza has tender and flavouful pieces of chargrilled chicken thigh, marinated in tikka masala, topped on pizza that’s closer to deep dish pizza for that cheesy goodness.
The chicken wings was nice and crispy with traditional flavors like honey garlic and buffalo, but also Asian flavours like Spicy Tandoori and Chilli Schezwan.
Even their drinks have something interesting like the Pista Badam Kesar Milkshake, which reminds me of Badam Milk I had in a Street Food Tour in India mixed with Rasmalai (without the cheese balls) and turned into a milkshake.
Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can try the Fresh Lime Masala Soda.

Potato Bar
Potato Bar is one of the unique restaurants in Mississauga for comfort food: it’s all about potatoes in different ways (smoked, hand-cut fries and tater tots) and loaded with over 40+ toppings!
Definitely try the Smoked Potato, PEI potatoes smoked with Cherokee wood, mashed with butter, and loaded with toppings. A unique take on a Loaded Baked Potato!

Saraya Restaurant
One of the best Middle Eastern restaurants at Ridgeway Plaza, Saraya Restaurant is known for its authentic flavors and family-style portions with dishes like mandi (Yemeni meat and rice dish), shish tawook and mixed grill.
The shish tawook was nicely grilled, flavourful and incredibly tender despite being chicken breasts. They do lamb really well at Saraya Restaurant with my favourite dishes being the lamb mandi and Ontario lamb chops.
The lamb shank on the mandi was fall-off-the-bone tender and the mandi rice was breaming with flavour (kind of reminded me of biryani). The lamb chops were perfectly grilled with a nice char, and I loved that there was a sliver of fat on each piece that gave it more juiciness and flavour.
Travelling Foodie Tip: They do not serve tap water here, but this gives you an excuse to try their delicious Mango Smoothie.

Shawarma Avenue
Did I really eat at Ridgeway Plaza if I didn’t try shawarma? It’s perhaps the most abundant food option in Mississauga’s biggest food plaza.
Among the top shawarma spots is Shawarma Avenue known for their saj wraps and chicken on rice. Aside from chicken, this no-frills restaurant is one of the few that has lamb and beef combined in their meat since most offer only beef.
I loved their Lamb + Beef Saj Wrap but, if you want a heartier meal or prefer rice over wrap, then Chicken on Rice is a great pick.
The option of saj wrap is great because it is thinner than pita wraps so you get to taste the fillings more. The Lamb + Beef is very tender, juicy and flavourful. If you like spicy, the homemade hot sauce is a must.

Sun Chinese Cuisine
If you’re craving noodles or soups, Sun Chinese Cuisine is a must at Ridgeway Plaza. This traditional Chinese restaurant specializes in hand-pulled noodles like traditional Lanzhou beef noodle and braised beef noodle, and you can even choose the size of noodles you like.
The noodle dishes I tried all hit the spot: Lanzhou beef noodles and braised beef noodles (noodle soups), and even surprisingly the Lanzhou Niangpi since I’m typically not a fan of cold noodle dishes.
A non-noodle dish I recommend is the Lamb w/ Special Seasoning, which was very tender and flavouful. Though it has cumin, you can choose the spice level, and the mild wasn’t spicy at all.
Travelling Foodie Tip: Sit at tables by the kitchen window to see the chefs in action, making and hand pulling the noodles from scratch. It’s quite a show!

The Dough Story
For a fancy dessert, The Dough Story is a must. The ambiance is beautiful, a mix of refined luxury and elegance, with some quirky furniture. Very Instagrammable, and perhaps the prettiest cafe at Ridgeway Plaza.
Much like its atmosphere, the decorated cakes and desserts are beautiful as well. Best of all, delicious!
The eggless mango cheesecake was unique with a mousse consistency while having a strong cheesy taste and sweet mango puree. The pistachio tres leches was perfectly moist, not so sweet, and has a strong taste of roasted pistachios that’s perfect for pistachio lovers.

How To Get To Ridgeway Plaza Mississauga
Located at 4700 Ridgeway Dr., Ridgeway Plaza is the combination of two adjacent centres, Erin Mills Centre and Platinum Centre.
You can eat your way at Ridgeway Plaza anytime since Mississauga is a year-round destination so it’s a great spot for a food trip:
- From Toronto: 45 minutes
- From Niagara-on-the-Lake: 1.25 hours
- From Stratford: 1.5 hours
- From Collingwood: 1.75 hours
- From Kingston: 3 hours
- From Windsor: 3.5 hours
- From Timmins: 7.5 hours
You can also take the GO Transit to Mississauga via train or bus with multiple train stations and transit stops available.
Ridgeway Plaza gets really busy so navigating the plaza can get challenging. Drivers and pedestrians should be cautious and alert, especially during weekends.
I was already surprised with the business on a Monday night (as shown in the video) and can imagine how crazy it can be on a weekend/holiday.
